PILLAR BURNING

A good pillar is designed to burn out to the edge. You must burn a pillar until it does so. Then it is safe to blow out. Keep the wick trimmed to 1/4" at all times. You must adjust the wick by moving it towards the sidewall that is thickest. Do not let the meltpool get too close to the edge or the wax will break through the side and drip. Blow the candle out if the pool gets too close. Always put a plate under a pillar to catch any drips or spills. If the candle does break through, you can correct it by burning the candle and blowing it out before the melt pool reaches the break. Continue to burn this way until the melt pool is well below the break. You may then resume normal burning.
