In the Beginning...
I was disabled in a major car accident in 1995 and put on Social Security at age 42. I could no longer afford paying high prices for quality candles like Yankee Candle, so I decided to make my own. After 6 months of testing and thousands of dollars in samples, I developed our exclusive recipes. I developed candles that are long lasting, clean burning and stronger smelling than any other on the market.
Back then Social Security was smart, they offered me a "back to work" offer where I could try to start a business and work at it for 3 years without losing my benefits. I started this business in 1995 and by offering quality candles at wholesale prices we now host over 1 million visitors per year between our website and factory store - 20+ years and counting!
Candyland started when the recession hit all small businesses very hard. We always had some candy in our store but I wanted to do more. I wondered if the candy I enjoyed when I was a kid was still around. I found out that many people we looking for retro candy. So we started going to the candy shows to search them out. We actually got married at a candy show!
People loved the new items so we kept adding more and formally started Candyland. Within 6 months candy was outselling our candles that we have sold since 1995! So we continue to look for the new items and add them to our retro items. You can see photos in the visit Candyland section. Check back often and please tell your friends about us.
